Pretty much done with my analysis thanks to the many fine folks who have helped with my questions--down to B7500 or B2710. Now thinking what will I do when it arrives--never operated a 'tractor' before. Can envision sitting in the driveway looking at it, with no clue as to what to do next!Does Kubota provide sufficient documentation on using the loader and 3 pt., and even the tractor?? Or is there a certain expectation of previous knowledge/experience or dealer training?? Specifically, hook-ups and do's and dont's of operation?? Ideally a 500 page manual!If not, would appreciate any leads on good books ('tractor operation for idiots' would be ideal).Went back and looked at the 2 above last night. One key question: Is the 2710 too much for primarily mowing?? Doing 7 hilly/rolling acres with lots of trees to work around (72" belly mower would be the choice). Other than this issue (and getting a good price), would go with the B2710--it's considerably more machine for the money.Thanks in advance!

M.Sulivan: I don't think you have to worry about learning how to operate your new tractor. Most manufactureres cover there equipment in great detail be it tractors or 3pt equipment and etc. READ THE MANUAL it will provide in detail most everything you need to know and then some. Your manual wiil walk you through the safety,operation,hydraulics, capacities, dos and don'ts of operation. I use to mow with a 970 Deere 72" belly mount deck and it did an excellent job. Just read your manual (a couple of times) and take your time until you get the feel of how it handles and enjoy. Bud. ....

I was a no experience tractor owner too and bought a new 2500DT. Not too hard to figure out and the manuals are decent. You'll come up with questions as you go but then that's what this board is for! I would go with the larger tractor if you can swing it. You say it's primarily for mowing but they're so versatile you'll come up with uses you hadn't thought of before and bigger is better (within reason!) I did note you have hills. The only thing that really surprised me was how easy it would be to roll one. (No suspension makes that a real possibility) On any type of slope or when doing loader work I wear the seatbelt religiously AND go slow. Good luck ....

The manuals are pretty decent and with a little bit of common sense you'll be OK. Hook-ups are straight forward. The B2710 is a good machine and if I had lots of trees to mow around I'd probably choose the belly mower too. As someone else said, "Use your seat belt" especially as you have hilly ground to cover because it is a life saver. You'll probably be very careful to start with but as you get used to the machine and your confidence builds, you'll enter the immortal, invincible, I can do anything stage and that is when it gets dangerous. They are really easy to turn over but if you almost do it once you'll never do it again ... believe me, been there, done that. Apart from that, relax and enjoy it. You'll have a ball. They're lots of fun but do be careful. ....

Tell your dealer that your a novice when it comes to operating a tractor,I'm sure he will take the time to go over every detail.When learning to use a loader or other equipment,the best way is to start out very slowly,keep the rpm's up,so you do not run out of power,best part of a hydro-trans.Just take your time to get to know the tractor,and to get the"feel" for everything.I also have B2710 with 72" mid-mower,this is an exellent mowing unit,the 2710 has lots of power,and is light on its feet.The mower deck is probably as well built,if not better than any other deck out there.You will enjoy the 2710,I recommend one highly. ....
